Job Title : Human Resources Generalist
Pay Rate : $24-$26/hr on W2
Duration : 6 months Contract
Location: La Verne, CA 91750
Job responsibilities:
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to retirement, compensation, benefits, leaves, talent management, productivity, recognition, morale, and training and development.
- Supports talent management with on-boarding, performance management, workforce planning, and succession planning.
- Assist with the Performance Management system by responding to questions and requests, running reports and filing as required.
- Processes employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Provides support with recruitment by assisting with job postings, launching search committees, and on-boarding new employees.
- Work with supervisors and managers to coordinate a smooth transition for new faculty and staff.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of University Benefits plans.
- Assists with Benefits Open Enrollment.
- May respond to employee benefit questions as needed.
- Able to assist with billings and daily benefit processes as required
- Provides back up assistance to student employment coordinator, especially during heavy hiring periods.
- May support collection of student employment paperwork, reviewing for accuracy, and addressing student questions. Provide assistance and/or back-up for student employment supervisor orientations.
- May assist with sending campus wide mass emails communications.
- May support other HR communication processes and projects as required.
- Actively participates as an effective member of the department by completing assigned duties, accepting additional assignments, assisting with HR events, and providing HR Front Desk coverage as needed.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Provides support and may coordinate leaves of absence, including CFRA, FMLA, PDL, and Workers Compensation.
- Assists with providing timely and accurate information both verbally and in written form about their rights and responsibilities.
- May interface with supervisors as required.

Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Psychology, or Law with an emphasis on human resources or social work.
