Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager with experience in commercial construction and concrete work. The ideal candidate will assist the Project Manager in overseeing construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and in accordance with safety and quality standards. This role requires strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills, with a focus on managing concrete structures and related activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Coordination: Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating construction activities, particularly focused on concrete-related tasks (foundations, slabs, walls, etc.).
- Document Management: Maintain and organize project documentation, including contracts, permits, schedules, submittals, and change orders.
- Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, review costs, and assist in controlling project expenses.
- Subcontractor Management: Support the coordination of subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications.
- Concrete Work Oversight: Assist in overseeing concrete pours, inspections, and formwork installation, ensuring compliance with project designs and quality standards.
- Progress Reporting: Track and report on project milestones and performance metrics, providing updates to the Project Manager and stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Identify potential issues and develop proactive solutions to maintain project momentum and avoid delays.
- Quality Control: Participate in site inspections and quality control checks to ensure compliance with safety regulations and construction standards.
- Client Communication: Maintain strong communication with clients and stakeholders, addressing concerns and ensuring expectations are met.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure that all project activities adhere to OSHA standards and company safety policies.
Qualifications:
- Education (Preferred): Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in commercial construction, with a focus on concrete structures.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in construction software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, etc.) and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
- Knowledge: Understanding of concrete techniques, construction materials, project management principles, and safety regulations.
- Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical Requirements: Must have a reliable vehicle to visit job sites regularly
- In-office: Ability to work full-time in office
