Optomi, in partnership with our manufacturing client,is seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to oversee and maintain the IT infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will be strong in Cohesity or comparable backup solutions and responsible for managing a diverse array of systems and services, ensuring optimal performance and security for over 1,000 users.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain the setup for AV Bitdefender, including policy enforcement and patch management for third-party applications.
- Design and maintain virtual servers within a Hyper-V environment, supporting over 250 servers.
- Configure and perform regular backup operations utilizing Storage Craft and Cohesity.
- Manage Active Directory and Exchange user administration in Azure and O365.
- Install and patch software on desktops and servers as requested, using WSUS and Bitdefender for updates.
- Provide level 2 and 3 desktop and help desk support through help desk tickets, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Work closely with the help desk and other teams to troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and deliver technical support.
- Perform server administration tasks, including user/group management, security permissions, group policies, print services, event log research, and resource monitoring to ensure seamless system architecture.
- Assist in purchasing IT equipment with the approval of the Project Manager.
- Evaluate, test, and deploy software and hardware upgrades to the networking infrastructure.
- Proactively monitor all network and storage devices, services, and servers to ensure uptime and performance.
- Undertake any other related tasks as assigned by the Senior Systems Administrator or Director of IT.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Hyper-V, Active Directory, Exchange, Azure, and O365.
- Familiarity with backup solutions such as Storage Craft and Cohesity.
- Experience with AV solutions and patch management systems (e.g., WSUS, Bitdefender).
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
