Position Summary
The role of the Import Shipping & Logistics Manager is to oversee, organize, and implement all logistics transactions for the company. This person is responsible for maintaining order accuracy, on time delivery, and customer satisfaction. They will work alongside the sales team and documentation team to problem-solve and maintain the highest level of customer service.
Essential Functions
· Organize inbound and outbound shipments for Fayman and ESRO, while assuring on time delivery and appropriate scheduling are maintained.
· Monitoring inventory to allocate orders for sales team.
· Communicate effectively with outside vendors (including cold storages, warehouses, inspection houses, suppliers, and customers) to assure the tasks are completed correctly and in a timely manner.
· Utilize the FSIS export library to assure specific country requirements are being met prior to exporting product.
· Arrange domestic trucking for pickups and deliveries, while working with the supplier and customer to align on time pick and delivery.
· Communicating any discrepancies from the schedule with the relevant parties.
· Oversee and implement new processes for logistics staff, assuring understanding and execution.
· Understand and operate with any WMS brought into the business with mastery.
· Work closely with the documentation team to assure all required documents are provided and correct.
· Arrange bookings for all outbound export orders using a freight forwarder.
· Manage and maintain relationships with outside vendors.
· Receive and approve invoices for payment from AP.
· Update our Master Data Sheet daily to assure accuracy and timeliness.
· Update booking and order information within Impex (our internet-based software system).
· Assure Shipping Instructions and Vessel Advise are sent for every order prior to loading.
· Coordinate inbound deliveries and related documentation with staff onsite at the plant.
· Ability to effectively communicate over the phone, via email, and other messenger apps (WhatsApp and Viber).
· Ability and willingness to work in a team setting.
· Understanding and manipulating Microsoft Excel worksheets to maintain inventory and delivery schedules.
· Save data within Excel while simultaneously saving documents electronically via Microsoft SharePoint
· Communicate with external members of the import / export business to gather market insight.
· Perform additional duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of shipping processes and best practices including the most efficient and cost-effective shipping methods.
- Knowledge of regulations related to transportation including those related to freight classifications

Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field preferred; or four (4) or more years of Logistics/Supply Chain Management; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Supervision Exercised
· Supervise logistics support staff. Reports to the Commercial Sales Manager.
