The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine invites applications for a faculty position at Full Professor level as the Director of Transfusion Medicine.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 to 7 years’ experience in Transfusion Medicine. As a Director of Transfusion Medicine for a large tertiary hospital, the selected individual will have responsibility and authority for all medical and technical policies, processes, and procedures and for the consultative and support services that relate to the care and safety of patients/donors to advance the academic mission of the institutions. Joining a group of transfusion medicine specialists, the candidate will also help cover all transfusion medicine related activities in two large hospital systems. Responsibilities for the position are with the University of Miami network of hospitals and clinics (UHealth System) and the flagship county hospitals of Miami-Dade County (Jackson Health System). If interested, there are opportunities in other laboratory specialty areas such as coagulation, diagnostic management team, informatics, etc. The candidate should be enthusiastic, creative, effective, inclusive, and a leader in all respects.

Candidates must possess an M.D or D.O. degree, board certification in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine, and have fellowship training or equivalent experience in Clinical Pathology. Must be licensed or eligible to practice medicine in the State of Florida.
