Fortescue’s Arizona Hydrogen Project is an exciting cornerstone investment for the development of a green liquid hydrogen plant in Buckeye, AZ. The project processes raw water using renewable energy to deliver green liquid hydrogen to displace large volumes of hydrocarbon use in the mobility market.

Our Opportunity
The Lead Planner role is responsible for all planning activities for the development of the Arizona Hydrogen project. The role is also responsible for development of the associated management plans, systems, tools and processes required to oversee the project and meet corporate requirements.
This role is critical to the project and as such must be based in the project office a minimum of 3 days / week. Other travel will be required within the region to engage with key package suppliers and additional contractor offices throughout delivery of the project. As construction commences there will be a requirement to be on site a minimum of 1 week / month to provide required assurance activities.
This role reports directly to the Project Controls Manager – Arizona Hydrogen and has a functional reporting line to the corporate Project Services function.
Key Responsibilities
- To provide a complete planning, control and monitoring service to the Arizona Hydrogen project team, covering all contractors and associated licensors/sub-contractors.
- Ensure company planning procedures are implemented and adhered to.
- Closely monitor/update all aspects of the schedule, appraise & advise the package managers of progress and trends; make recommendations for preventive or corrective action in the event of any deviations from the program.
- Present clear and concise planning reports / documentation on a regular basis, this would include bar charts and networks, man-hours loading, S-curves and productivity reports.
- Attend progress/Co-ordination meetings and discuss planning items, communicate meeting outcomes as appropriate to the team members.
- Provide an independent assessment of individual contractor’s progress and communicate accordingly to project team members.
- Assist the Operations team in development of a completions/systems handover and commissioning schedule.
- Provision of effective construction planning and Co-ordination of the project team inclusive of contractors, licensors and sub-contractors.
- To ensure that planning activities have satisfactory incorporated the requirements of project and appropriate regulations
- Develop and maintain the overall Arizona Hydrogen integrated schedule.
- Liaise with the contractors and associated licensors/sub-contractors planning engineers, with regards to the status of agreed deliverables.
- Co-ordinate schedule interfaces with other members of the Project Services team, i.e. Cost team, Contracts and Procurement and other functions.
Qualifications And Experience
- Degree qualification or equivalent in a trade, project management or engineering.
- A recognized expert with ~10 years’ experience in projects, with extensive experience in Planning and in leading diverse teams
- Proficient with Primavera P6 and Pertmaster Risk Analysis software.
- Microsoft Office products
- Broad understanding of facilities engineering and Project Control issues without being a specialist.
- Highly developed cross cultural influencing skills for work with subcontract staff of varied nationalities and backgrounds.
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
- Ability to interpret documentation and drawings and apply to the Integrated Master Schedule
- Demonstrated understanding of Process Facility Engineering principles
- Strong understanding and demonstrated knowledge of project management principles
- Strong understanding of procurement and contract processes
- Excellent understanding and demonstrated knowledge of schedule risk concepts and techniques
- Excellent understanding and demonstrated knowledge of facilities construction technics
