Freeman Mathis and Gary, LLP is a rapidly growing, national specialty litigation firm seeking an experienced paralegal to join our Dallas office. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with the preparation of a civil case throughout discovery and prepare for, attend and assist at trial
- Be familiar with and understand medical terminology or ability and willingness to learn
- Review medical records and prepare detailed medical chronologies
- Review, manage, summarize, and synthesize records and data of all kinds in various types of cases
- Prepare deposition summaries
- Prepare subpoenas and non-party requests in both State and Federal Courts
- Prepare discovery requests to parties
- Manage and track responses
- Draft timelines and create other demonstrative evidence
- Prepare meet and confer correspondence
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel and able to learn other programs including document management systems
- Organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints with minimal supervision and exceptional attention to detail
Qualifications and Experience:
- 3+ years paralegal experience in a law firm
- Civil litigation experience required
- Experience with medical cases
- Familiarity with performing research tasks using web-based legal research services
- Experience working with paperless files. iManage experience a plus
- Must successfully pass a background/drug screen
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certificate from ABA approved program required.
