PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversite and management of the Production and Warehouse department in the safest, most efficient manner in support of business goals and customer requirements. Drive continuous improvement and quality improvement initiatives.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee and manage Production Assembly, Packaging, Warehousing, and Receiving.
Ensure proper staffing to meet fluctuating customer demands with on time delivery
Works with Human Resources to interview and hire staff.
Schedule production and warehouse personnel (including oversite and approval of all requests for time off).
Create an environment of continuous improvement with a goal to increase efficiency and overall capacity.
Conduct on time performance and salary reviews.
Coach, counsel and discipline employees in abidance with company policies and procedures.
Create an environment that encourages employees to grow in their capabilities and ability to effectively contribute to the goals of the division.
Recommend and establish training opportunities/programs for direct reports.
Cross train employees to facilitate fluctuations in staffing among different work areas.
Work with the safety committee to that all warehouse activities are performed safely and in accordance with safety rules and procedures.
Establish and maintain procedures for all areas of the warehouse operations to ensure the accuracy of inventory counts.
Manage day to day maintenance of warehouse equipment and facility.
Fully communicate with other departments regarding issues that may affect delivery schedules.
Partners with Quality Assurance to diagnose issues with quality within the Warehouse department. Leverage trends to tackle repeated issues and improve product quality for customers.
Confers with department leaders to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with production, sales, and purchasing.
Focus on capacity optimization – both for labor and space
Other duties and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
5 years prior management experience within a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
Prior experience working with 5S and Lean manufacturing programs highly desirable.
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal relationship skills.
Organized with strong attention to detail.
Able to plan effectively and efficiently.
Able to respond quickly and efficiently when work demands change.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
ERP experience – Microsoft D365 or Microsoft AX experience desired
Reliable with strong follow-through.
Ability to envision and drive change when needed to meet the growth and continuously changing needs of our business.
