ROLE: FIELD ENGINEER (TELECOM / DATA CENTER)
SALARY: $60,000 - $70,000 PER ANNUM + CAR ALLOWANCE + FUEL ALLOWANCE

Principal responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
• Ability to provide 24 x 7 support as part of a technical escalation rota
• Installation, Cabling, and Wiring Services
• Furnish ground equipment and associated framework, per applicable grounding standards, as requested by the customer.
• Furnish and run cables including Power cables to fuse panel and fuse position, Fibre/ethernet cables to the bay, panel, and jack position and Console cables to data-communications network (“DCN”) network router.
• Clean and inspect all fibbers.
• Label equipment and cables with aisle, shelf, and unit designations
The Telecoms Engineer is responsible for effective duties as set out below and will provide additional support to ensure engineering teams deliver on time, in budget and quality. The Telecoms Engineer will also work towards gaining technical engineering competence and adhere to Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) standards.
The post holder will be required to take on any additional duties which may be considered within the remit of the role.
• Perform Smart Hands support on network and server hardware including:
• Connecting test sets or test router to equipment.
• Taking light levels.
• Providing planned maintenance or circuit migration support.
• Troubleshooting hardware problems on any device.
• Racking and de-racking of any device installed.
• Power cycling a router, server, switch and soft-booting a server.
• POP housekeeping Services
• Quality inspections on final work performed at each network site.
• Supervise other third party subcontractors working at POPs. (Point of Presence)
• Additional Services such as cage or rack builds, copper or multimode fibre installs, circuit migrations and audits etc.
• Additional Services may include but not limited to:
• Cage builds and equipment installation • Rack builds, racking and stacking of equipment
• Cabling and labelling according to cabling diagrams
• Copper cabling installation and testing. • Multimode fibre optic cable installation and testing.
