Maintenance Engineer
Base salary: 90,000 to 95,000
Our client is seeking a Maintenance Engineer supporting the Polyurethanes Division located in Ringwood, Illinois. This position will report to the Reliability Manager.
Job Scope
Function of the job is to provide technical support to troubleshoot and solve problems impacting equipment reliability, to identify opportunities and execute plans to improve equipment performance, and to manage responsibilities with work order management throughout the site. Furthermore, when requested, the maintenance engineer is responsible for providing technical direction to the Site Crafts people on equipment issues and repair.
As the Maintenance Engineer you will:
- Understand safety and equipment procedures.
- Provide root cause analysis for maintenance related issues and failures providing recommendations for rectification.
- Maintain and improve preventative and predictive maintenance program.
- Schedule maintenance work for craftsmen and contractors.
- Manage part selection and quoting to support scheduled maintenance work.
- Communicates directly with procurement assistance regarding parts required and inventory levels needed to complete all scheduled Work Orders and PM Orders.
- Perform maintenance related projects to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain computerized maintenance management system.
- Assist in maintaining storeroom to ensure inventory is correct and what is in inventory meets the service goals of the department.
- Liaison between internal customers, vendors and contractors to achieve job tasks.
- Identify and prioritize multiple projects and work streams.
- Preparation of reports, metrics, and other tracking tools.
- Ensure department documentation and record keeping is in good order.
- Share job knowledge and experience with site personnel to develop, train, and enhance the skill set of all team members.
- Proactively perform Systems lifecycle assessments to identify obsolete equipment and recommend suitable replacements.
Required Qualifications:
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience, manufacturing industry preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred.
- The job requires ability to perform across mechanical and electrical fields.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication.
- Ability to work in an industrial setting.
- Ability to effectively work as an individual contributor and/or as part of a diverse team composed of Maintenance personnel, Operations personnel, Leadership, Contractors, and other Engineers.
- Working knowledge and ability to research and implement ISO and applicable government and professional standards.

- On occasion be required to bend/stoop, climb, reach above shoulder level and kneel while reviewing work in the field.
- The Employee will frequently be required to climb stairs and occasionally lift to 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
