IEA, Inc. is seeking a CADD Designer to join our team and work closely with engineers to perform design work in our Fort Worth, TX office.
Job Summary:
The CADD Designer prepares and designs detailed construction drawings as well as related maps/exhibits used in planning and construction of civil engineering projects. This individual works with a team of Professional Engineers and Engineers-In-Training to develop roadway, drainage, and/or civil drawings from engineering notes, sketches, and/or detailed drawings.
Job Responsibilities:
Use CADD software for the preparation of roadway plans, including cutting sheets and preparing roadway details
- Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings based on detailed sketches and redline/markups provided by designers and engineers
- Work on multiple assignments simultaneously
- Prepare preliminary and final CADD construction drawings for highway, roadway, transit, environmental, structural, and utility improvement projects
- Prepare preliminary and final right-of-way, planning, or other technical drawings
- May lead project CADD support efforts under the direction of the engineer in charge
- Perform basic geometry and quantity calculations
- Review of others’ work and quality checks
- Support/advance CADD models for civil (roadways, drainage, grading, etc.) and buildings
- Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, cost estimates and other contract documentation informed by CADD models and details
- Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation
- Complete training on assigned tasks
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education:
- 2-year associate degree in computer-Aided Design and Drafting or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience with CADD software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation
- Experience working with Bentley/MicroStation InRoads is a plus
- Experience working on the preparation of plans on transportation projects is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:
- Actively enrolled in or graduated from an accredited college/Technical School for CADD, or related program
- Experience with Bentley OpenRoads/Open Bridge Modeler/CONNECT
- Demonstrated interest in CADD software development, BIM, or related field with a strong desire to advance skills related to IEA’s work, industry improvements, and project needs
- Experience in engineering discipline
