LHH is currently partnering with a well-known nonprofit organization looking to bring on a Research Associate to support a part time contract role Oct-Dec with the potential to extend into 2025. This role will sit fully remote and require 20 hours of week per week, with flexibility on day/time. The position will pay between $30-$36 based on experience. This position will support quantitative and qualitative research and evaluation tasks for domestic communication initiatives related to public health and social change. Responsibilities include analyzing primary and secondary data using various methodologies such as surveys, focus groups, usability studies, interviews, content analyses, environmental scans, and literature reviews. The Research Associate will be a key member of a team involved in applied research, evaluation, public health, and health communication projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the design and implementation of research studies, including drafting research tools, collecting and analyzing data, and summarizing findings from surveys, focus groups, usability studies, interviews, and other methodologies.
- Conduct online/virtual research interviews and moderate small group discussions.
- Analyze quantitative data, including marketing, media, and lifestyle surveys; government surveys; and project-specific data. Review audience segmentation and public opinion surveys.
- Collaborate with senior staff to create clear and informative data visualizations to communicate research findings.
- Develop draft research protocols and informed consent documents, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Qualifications:
- Provide support on non-research tasks as needed, such as summarizing digital and social media metrics.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, Statistics, Research Methods, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Research Experience: Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and analyzing research studies using quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
- Data Analysis and Visualization: Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R) and data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau); ability to analyze and interpret complex data.
- Communication Skills: Ability to summarize and report research findings clearly; experience with moderating online/virtual interviews and group discussions.
- Regulatory and Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of research ethics and regulations; experience developing research protocols and informed consent documents.
