Job Title: Quality Assurance & Food Safety Manager
Job Overview:
The Quality Assurance & Food Safety Manager designs, implements, and oversees food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory programs. The role ensures the facility adheres to the highest food safety standards, providing necessary documentation to prove product compliance with both Prime Meats and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Implement Programs: Develop and maintain HACCP, SQF, and other food safety and regulatory programs.
- Compliance & Assessment: Assess product characteristics, requirements, and conditions to ensure adherence to customer specifications.
- Training & Development: Design and execute training for plant personnel on food safety, quality, and compliance practices.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with all departments to ensure seamless execution of safety, quality, and compliance projects.
- Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions: Investigate product/process failures and take corrective actions to minimize product exposure and production downtime.
- Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with plant management, production employees, USDA, and other regulatory bodies.
- Inventory Coordination: Oversee raw material and finished product rotation, as well as the optimization of inventory via sales promotions.
- Quality Control: Manage the testing, satisfaction, expiration, and aging of processed products.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Chemical, or a related engineering field, with strong proficiency in quality management.
- Certifications: HACCP, SQF, OSHA, USDA certifications, and City and County Code knowledge.
- Languages: Bilingual (English and Spanish).
Skills:
- Self-management, conflict management, collaborative mindset, customer focus.
- Strong knowledge in computing packages like Office and SAP.
- Leadership in developing and fostering relationships with regulatory agencies.
Preferred:
- Experience in the food industry.
- Availability for flexible working hours.
