Location :- 4828 Loop Central Dr. Houston, TX 77081
Duration :-Fulltime
Work Schedule :- Mon-Fri 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm; flexible schedule
Primary purpose: to locate and provide information about a) owners of, b) liens filed against, and c) legal descriptions for real property assessed under delinquent tax accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Gathers title examination documents from title plants and county records.
- Analyzes the details found in documents during record searches.
- Compiles a chain-of-title, including deeds, probate or heirship records, liens on the property, and involuntary liens against the owners.
- Determines property owners and lien holders for both mortgages and involuntary liens.
- Provides a clear legal description of the property to ensure precise identification.
- Prepares a run sheet listing the legal description of the property, the names of the owners, and all lien holders tied to delinquent accounts.
- Stores run sheets and digital copies of all examination materials.
- Performs any additional tasks as assigned.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Primarily office-based work in the Houston PRC area.
- Involves desk work, including searching for property information online or through title plants, then entering relevant data into word processing documents or databases using a computer and keyboard.
- Occasionally requires travel to a county courthouse for on-site work at the county clerk’s office.
- Courthouse tasks may involve reviewing digital records on a computer monitor or manually searching through large record books, which may require lifting and replacing those books.
Skills:
• Familiarity with real estate transactions and how real property is described.
• Knowledge about ownership of, and interests in, real property.
• Understanding of legal documents that convey and encumber real property.
• Strong skills in interpreting wills and heirship information.
• Experience using title plants and courthouse records in the metro Houston area.
• The ability to handle work in a production-oriented environment.
• Typing skills that facilitate the quick entry of information into reports.
• A working understanding of multiple sources of land title information.
