Overview of Position:
Job Description:
This Process Engineer position's key responsibility is the shaping and development of small capital projects on the new unit. This team will work alongside start-up Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance teams to resolve issues identified during initial operation.
Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Lead development of project design deliverables (internal or 3rd party, depending on complexity) according to industry codes and standards, engineering standards, and plant internal standards.
- Lead development of Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), General Arrangement Drawings (GARs), equipment specification sheets, and other design-related documents.
- Partner with project managers to lead effective engagements with stakeholders at the site including Process Engineering, PSM/HSE, Operations, and Maintenance & Reliability.
- Review designs for impact to plant Process Hazard Analysis (PHA).
- Completion of design calculations for pumps, piping, relief devices, and other process equipment sizing. Review of 3rd party calculations and design.
- Responsible for 5-10 projects simultaneously at various development and execution phases. Project TIC range $50,000 - $5,000,000.
- Support of MOC / PSSR process. Transfer of design documentation to system of record upon completion.
- Adherence to the capital project execution process.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in an engineering field from an ABET accredited university.
- 3-5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably refining.
