Position Overview: The Vice President of Commercial & Industrial Business Development will be responsible for leading Brooks Construction Corp’s initiatives in the commercial and industrial sectors. This role demands a strategic leader with a deep understanding of these markets, strong business acumen, and a successful track record in developing and managing high-value business opportunities. The VP will collaborate closely with the executive team to enhance the company’s market presence and drive growth in these areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a strategic business development plan for commercial and industrial projects that aligns with the company's overall objectives and growth targets.
- Achieve revenue goal of $30mm annually with 50% growth year over year.
- Forge and nurture strong relationships with key clients, industry partners, real estate developers, and other stakeholders to secure new business and foster long-term partnerships.
- Oversee the identification, evaluation, and pursuit of new commercial and industrial project opportunities, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of business development professionals, providing support, training, and direction to achieve performance goals and drive success.
- Negotiate and manage contracts, agreements, and partnerships to maximize business opportunities and ensure favorable terms.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including project management and engineering, to integrate business development strategies with project execution and delivery.
- Represent Brooks Construction Corp at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to enhance the company’s visibility and reputation in the commercial and industrial sectors.
- Develop and implement strategies for market penetration and business expansion, including identifying and pursuing new market segments and geographic regions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, with at least 5 years focused on the commercial and industrial construction sectors. Proven success in securing large-scale projects.
- Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to drive data-informed decisions and develop actionable business plans.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial and industrial construction trends, market dynamics, and regulatory environments.
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strategic relationships and partnerships.
- Proven experience in negotiating complex contracts and managing high-value projects.
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients, partners, and project sites.
