Network Engineer (Cisco, Fortinet)
Optomi, in partnership with a client in the food and beverage distributor industry, is seeking a Network Engineer for the client's Fort Worth, TX office. The Network Engineer, will be responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining new and existing Networks and infrastructure. The Network Engineer will be a member of the core engineering team.
Responsibilities of the Right Candidate:
- Design, implement, and maintain our network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyze network needs, and propose solutions.
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco switches, Ruckus access points, and Fortinet firewalls to optimize network performance and security.
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve issues to minimize downtime.
- Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers to ensure effective network management and support.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices, making recommendations for network improvements.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior network engineers and other IT staff.
- Participate in security management activities.
- Use diagnostic tools to identify deficiencies.
- Suggest and oversee process improvement initiatives.
- Attend webinars and conferences.
