Kind, compassionate, and welcoming? Team player and a sense of humor? Join WCS! We have a full-time Mental Health Professional position available, as a result of an expansion in our Comprehensive Community Services Program (CCS).
Position Summary: This position is responsible for day-to-day operations of a team of CCS Care Coordinators or Ancillary Providers and clinical oversight of the CCS program and staff.
Essential Functions:
- Screen new referrals and perform intakes as needed, including initial assessments, individual recovery plans, and PPS NOMS Bundle, provide supervision and oversight to intake coordinators.
- Assist staff in identifying services from the CCS service array appropriate to address barriers to recovery.
- Act as a leader in the WCS Evidence Based Practices and Trauma Informed Care movement.
- Provide clinical supervision and management to CCS staff.This includes team meetings, individual and side-by-side supervision.
- Participate in recruiting, screening, interviewing, and training new CCS staff as needed.
- Complete annual CCS employee evaluations either independently or with program manager in a timely manner
- Maintain a quality assurance process to monitor staff documentation to ensure good clinical practice and maximize billing.
- Ensure accountability for timely RPOC and SARJ completion by staff and report late RPOCs/SARJs to Program Manager.
- Participate with and report to the Program Manager on accountability measures, any misconduct of agency policies and corrective actions with direct service staff as needed.
- Ensure adequate staffing of program and provide coverage as needed.
- Assess staff training needs and coordinate training with management.
- Assist and support CCS staff during crisis situations/provides coverage during times of staff shortage.
- Maintain records in Provider Connect/Avatar, prompt CCS staff to complete PPS/NOMS and ensure that they are entered in a timely fashion.
- Oversee CCS discharges with Milwaukee County and ensure that discharges are completed according to DHS 36
- Attend CCS meetings at Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division
- Represent the Agency in the community and at County initiatives as needed.
- Advise management on all aspects of the Agency’s programs.
- Appropriately document all contact with clients and team members
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize daily tasks.
- Review mid cycle reviews, 6-month reviews and annual reviews and assist care coordination staff with making corrections prior to submitting to CARS.
- Conduct Monthly Chart audits with the assistance of Program Manager and present results to care coordination team.
- Provide backup coverage as needed.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Program Manager with ensuring staff timesheets are completed in a timely manner.
- Other job-related duties may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the position.
- Attend MC3, all provider meetings or other presentations or meetings as needed.

Job Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- A very high degree of clinical knowledge and skills and the ability to clearly communicate these to others
- Ability to cope with emergency situations with a highly impaired population
- Good supervision skills and the ability to maintain and promote positive working relationships within WCS
- Excellent assessment and interviewing skills
- Good understanding of mental health, substance use, and co-occurring needs and the effects on the people being served by the CCS program and their families
- Good understanding of the substance use population
- Ability to support staff in difficult situations
- Effective use of time and resources to help maintain quality CCS services.
- Experience working with Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Services preferred.
Minimal Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in a Behavioral Science or related field (psychology, educational psychology, social work, counseling, marriage, and family, etc.) and licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker is required.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- No convictions or license revocations that would fail a caregiver background check.
- Valid driver’s license, automobile, and sufficient insurance to meet agency requirements.

Work Relationship and Scope: Reports directly to the Comprehensive Community Services Program Manager in the WCS Specialized Services Division; works with Unlimited Potential psychiatrist, nursing staff, the CCS treatment team as well as the benefits advocates, acts as a liaison with landlords, employers, community medical staff and family members as needed.

Working Conditions: Work is performed in the office, the community and in people’s homes serving people with significant mental health, substance use and co-occurring needs; hours average at least 40 hours per week. No work on holidays or weekends, no crisis coverage.
Physical Demands: Position is located within the office and the community; requires travel throughout the community as needed. Driving throughout Milwaukee County; must be able to go up and down stairs.
