Our growing business is looking for a talented, motivated, and passionate Senior Social Performance Consultant to join our innovative high-performing team. We work two to three days a week in our Houston office and 2-3 days a week from home with some opportunities for work travel, as allowed per project. Job Summary:
The Senior Social Performance Consultant will play a key role in delivering expert advice, managing projects, and developing innovative solutions for our clients. He or she will be the primary contact for clients and develop relationships, as well as have subject matter expertise in the field of environmental or social performance consulting.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Mentors and coaches’ junior consultants and team members, providing guidance on technical and professional development.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides expert environmental consulting services to clients, offering strategic advice and technical solutions to meet their needs.
- Leads and manages environmental projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
- Applies in-depth knowledge of corporate social performance practices, environmental regulations, sustainability practices, and/or industry best practices to projects and client consultations.
- Conducts and oversees data collection, analysis, and interpretation to inform project decisions and recommendations.
- Prepares comprehensive reports, proposals, and presentations for clients, clearly communicating findings and recommendations.
- Engages with stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, community groups, and other relevant parties, to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior consultants and team members.
- Supports business development efforts by identifying new opportunities, participating in proposal development, and contributing to client pitches.
- Promotes best practices and continuous improvement in project delivery and consulting services, staying current with industry trends and advancements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Effective time management and organizational abilities, including use of Microsoft Office, Teams, Word, and Excel.
- Proven project management skills, with experience leading complex environmental projects.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Smartsheet, Harvest, and Forecast.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply technical data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and effectively.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sociology, Anthropology, Environmental Science, Engineering, Environmental Policy, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental consulting or a related field, with a strong track record of successful project delivery and client management.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Must have authorization to work in the US if not a citizen.
