The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will support the Factory's leadership team through support of factory wide efforts. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will support the factory operations by alleviating technical and logistical issues, providing corrective action for quality issues, and provide optimization for design and manufacturing opportunities.
Depending on the needs of the factory and program, the Senior Manufacturing Engineer would also learn production and programmatic operations and employ their manufacturing skill set in planning and execution collaboratively between the factory and they program. They use the systems and tools to assist overall success while focusing on cost, quality, and schedule. They also build technical depth in the manufacturing processes, are a liaison to the program representing the factory's interest, and they are accountable for improvement and optimization.
What You Will Do
Apply manufacturing engineering skillsets across the extended value stream to resolve constraints and improve process and product designs
Leverage knowledge and technical skills to influence business decisions and results from new designs to recurring production
Design, control, and improve the producibility of products through collaboration with a multi-disciplined team
Lead and coordinate projects, efforts and improvements across the extended value streams
Act as the manufacturing and producibility authority within the program
Act as a mentor and trainer to manufacturing engineers
Identify and resolve constraints across the program
Participate in corrective action investigation
Provide technical input and peer review to engineering design changes
Provide technical guidance and problem solving to factory engineers
Participation in ERB/CCB, LOB, production increment planning, the program Ops representative
Providing Effectivities for Variances/IR's/CN's
Help with communication between the factory and the program:
Informing program of major factory issues
Informing factory of major program changes
Keeping the factory informed when items such as VAR's, CN's get approved at board that would affect their hardware
Communicating across different factory levels
Creating and managing Material Master and MBOM requests
Addressing large scale quality issues that affect the factory
Understanding the configurations of hardware that are planned to be built for a contract, and helping to ensure the factory is prepared
Assist with future contract proposals by providing the BOMS for applicable hardware configurations and other tasks
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF).
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Ability to identify, reduce and eliminate cost, quality and schedule constraints through technical engagements
Understand and utilize factory and program performance data
Ability to work or lead in groups and cross functional teams
Experience interpreting and improving technical drawings
Experience with technical writing
Experience with MRP systems, including SAP
Experience with DOD financial reporting systems including EAC and EVMS processes
Experience teaching, training and/or mentoring manufacturing systems to junior engineers
Experience communicating technical information to different audiences
Current DOD Security Clearance

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
