Barnhart Crane and Rigging Company is seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator
Job Type: Full-time
Responsibilities:
- Receive information from internal team and input load data in logistics software.
- Monitor quotes and pricing submitted by contracted carriers.
- Identify and select the best carrier and mode of transportation to reduce costs.
- Process load tenders and ensure load acceptance by selected carrier.
- Coordinate with carriers to ensure on-time pickup and delivery, estimate times of arrival and delivery and recovering loads when necessary.
- Track loads to ensure on-time delivery and proactively communicate potential delivery delays to team members and customers.
- Communicate and escalate issues as they arise.
- Respond to team needs by answering e-mails, phone calls and attending meetings.
- Develop relationships with new and current carriers and continually negotiate rates.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior work experience in trucking industry required
- Prior truck driver and/or Owner/Operator experience a plus (not required)
- Knowledge of open trailer and over the road freight
- Geographic understanding of continental U.S.
- Effective communication skills (written, verbal)
- Proficient in office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong analytical thinking skills
