Job Description
Our Engineering Consulting client in the Utilities and Telecommunications sector is seeking a Power Engineering Technologist to join their team. This entry level design engineering professional will be assigned to projects that require utility pole design mapping. Technologists will be given survey packets of the poles they are mapping that are collected by field technicians and then passed off to the engineering technology team. With the survey packets, the Engineering Technologist will know the geographic location of the poles and the different assets (wires, boxes, etc.) attached to each pole. They will then use all this information to digitally create the design "distribution" map. Similar proficiency in drafting and design or GIS work is required to be successful, with related education being a huge help to succeed as well. This position is a 6 month contract-to-hire. There is full training provided on our processes and the software utilized.
