BASIC PURPOSE: Assist with relationship management of NCLH's full ship charter, event, and corporate customers. This role covers every phase with the customer and execution of the programming needs working with full ship charters. Ensure that the completion of each charter is done with the highest customer service level possible, as well as the highest total quality of revenue.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in managing the day-to-day programming needs identified in the charter contract and/or negotiated or requested outside the contract.
- Secure additional revenue through up-selling value-added services.
- Obtains customer requirements and manage manifests.
- Communicate and work closely with Hotel and Marine Operations departments, vessel hotel staff and various departments before, during and post event to ensure that all programming requirements are met, all program components are delivered, and the highest level of service possible is achieved.
- Responsible for preparing and administering final operations memos and day to day charter grids, outlining detailed daily activities of the program.
- Provide marketing assistance, and contract review and management.
- Collect payments and facilitate communication with pertinent departments to ensure the highest levels of service possible.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships throughout the entire planning and delivery process.
- Assist and remain present on charters and work with vessel hotel staff to ensure that each scheduled event is executed as planned.
- Complete voyage reconciliation upon completion of the charter or group program to ensure that company has collected all funds due and/or the client receives all payments due.
- Participate in site inspection sailings.
- Travel with client to conduct operations meetings, host site inspections and act as corporate liaison onboard.
- Occasionally lead event meetings and other staff meetings.
- Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management or related field of study or equivalent experience is required.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years' experience in an event planning role in the hospitality industry (hotel, resort, etc.), new business launches, and marketing productions is required. Experience in comprehensive marketing (print, television, on-line, photo, etc.) is preferred. Cruise line experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Strong organization, planning skills, and attention to detail with the ability to proactively prioritize needs and effectively manage resources. Event planning knowledge. Excellent analytical skills to evaluate various charter or group payment models and cost of sale. Ship operations knowledge and contacts. Excellent written and verbal skills for correspondence with clients, negotiations, and presentations. Proficient negotiation skills. Ability to multi-task. Ability to manage varying client expectations. Basic to Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Power Point to write correspondence, memos, navigate spreadsheets and develop presentations. Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, both domestically and internationally, and be onsite for the duration of all full ship charters and select group programs.
