About The Team
LinkedIn’s Information Security Defense Infrastructure team is responsible for building the technology and frameworks required to defend LinkedIn against possible attackers and respond to active security threats. Our mission is to provide highly available, reliable and resilient infrastructure and tooling to enable threat detection, incident response, and investigations. The tools and solutions built span across internal custom libraries, deep Azure integrations and automation, high volume processing pipelines and more!
This job requires an engineer who is adept at both building software solutions as well as understanding and integrating with industry standard tools and methods around security monitoring. The ideal candidate will have professional experience with Python, Java and/or other programming languages and be ready to expand their breadth of knowledge as the team and role evolves. Our ideal candidate will also be comfortable working in Azure environments and data pipeline solutions. We are looking for an Engineer with a growth mindset. This is a dynamic role on a dynamic team, we do what it takes to solve the security challenges we are faced with.
Responsibilities
· You will lead, drive, and implement secure software solutions for security monitoring, detection and remediation using Java, Python and other languages when necessary.
· You are expected to collaborate with partners within the team as well as across the organization and company to collect requirements and provide mutually beneficial outcomes.
· You will execute on the goals of the team, delivering end to end solutions that balance the needs of the business and the maintainability of software.
· You are expected to participate and contribute to the projects owned by other team members and partners.
Basic Qualifications
· BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
· 3+ years of experience with software design, development, and algorithmic solutions.
· Experience with the full software stack from operating system tooling, architecting highly available and scalable solutions, authoring reliable and maintainable code, and deploying, monitoring, and iterating on technical solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
· 3+ years of experience in information security.
· Experience in building tooling and automation for Security Incident management
· 3+ years experience with Microsoft Azure development
· 3+ years of experience with big data such as Spark, Hadoop, etc
· 3+ years of experience building data pipelines

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $121,000 - $198,000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
