Senior Business Design Analyst - P&C
Summary/Objective
We are seeking a Senior Business Design Analyst responsible for facilitating communication between business teams and the technology development team. This role requires the ability to streamline and simplify creative processes, ensuring business requirements are clearly documented and translated into technical specifications. The successful candidate will have the insight and skills to gather information, analyze it, and create actionable technical documents for the development team.
Essential Duties & Functions
This role includes, but is not limited to:
- Leading technical design sessions to define solutions, serving as a liaison between the business and technology teams.
- Translating business requirements into clear technical specifications and documentation.
- Investigating business needs, identifying problems, and proposing appropriate technological or business solutions.
- Analyzing and validating functional specifications and ensuring they align with business goals.
- Helping stakeholders envision future processes and how to adapt to support upcoming changes.
- Evaluating requirements from multiple sources, reconciling conflicting needs, and identifying the true requirements versus user ‘wants.’
- Producing detailed system requirements and documentation, including current and future state process flows, standard operating procedures, and use cases.
- Collaborating with various departments to understand their needs and challenges.
- Preparing technical design documents to guide development teams in platform or application changes.
- Developing and executing test cases, scripts, and user acceptance testing (UAT) plans.

Education and Experience Requirements
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Business Administration or relevant experience.
- Experience documenting insurance products or similar industry offerings.
- Direct experience in commercial property and casualty insurance is highly preferred.
Additional Eligibility Requirements
- Certifications in Business Analysis or related fields are preferred.
- Project management certifications are a plus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, with typical working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some extended hours or weekend work may be required based on business needs.
Travel
Occasional travel may be required for this position.
