The Compliance Specialist will ensure the organization adheres to legal standards and company policies while enforcing regulations in all aspects and complete related tasks, as assigned.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops and oversees control systems to prevent or deal with violations of legal guidelines and internal policies.
- Evaluates the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously.
- Revises procedures and reports periodically to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues.
- Collaborates with corporate counsels and Human Resources to monitor the enforcement of standards and regulations' communicating policy and regulation changes to all facilities
- Reviews the work of colleagues when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide advice or training.
- Prepares reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies, as appropriate.
- Executes daily inventory analysis; identify and resolve discrepancies and problems.
- Communicates with Purchasing department as needed regarding new items.
- Ensures milestones and goals are met.
- Serves as liaison between all Inventory Control Leads and the Director of Compliance.
- Perform additional related duties, as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
Knowledge
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in the cannabis industry preferred, with previous compliance experience a plus.
- Previous experience with METRC a plus.
Skills
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills; including the ability to strategically provide written and verbal direction effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to positively influence team members.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite programs, with advanced skills in MS Excel.
Abilities
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. with assistance, 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time, including operation of a computer.
- Must be a self-motivated and not afraid to roll your sleeves up and do the work when necessary.
- Must be able to bend, lift and stoop continuously.
