Job Title: Family Law Attorney
Location: Remote, but must travel to court for in-person hearings, trials, etc. in WA
Duration: Full time
Shift: Availability from 8 AM to 5 PM PST, Monday to Friday, is essential
Responsibilities:
As the Legal Assistant, you will be the backbone of our legal support teams. You will be providing support to our clients and our legal teams as they navigate through difficult times. This remote, full-time role is your opportunity to shine as the embodiment of our mission to deliver exemplary legal representation coupled with genuine care.
Must-Have: State Bar License of WA
Your Daily Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse caseload of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, support, visitation, paternity, protection orders, etc.
- Provide compassionate and comprehensive legal counsel to clients, guiding them through the complexities of the family court system.
- Draft, review, and file legal documents such as petitions, motions, and briefs with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on various family law issues to stay updated with current laws and regulations.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, mediation, and negotiations with a professional demeanor and strategic approach.
- Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and staff to ensure seamless representation and client service.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering support and guidance throughout their legal process.
- Participate in business development activities to expand the firm's family law practice and client base.
Who You Are:
- The ideal candidate will embody our core values and bring:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- An active member in good standing with the state bar association.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience practicing family law.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Proficient in legal research databases and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of family law.
