GU Sr. Technical Lab Instructor in GAC Savannah
Unique Skills:
Instructor will be required to have previous expereince mentoring avionics and mechanical skill sets. The ideal candidate will posses a Airframe and Powerplant license due to requirement to support skills OJT training on various disciplines or a combination of years of expereince in each of the following: Avionics, Sheetmetal and aircraft component removal and installation. Idealy this instructor will have previous expereince in building from the ground up and maintaining a training enviromnet that will be used for OJT, Skills development and ILT training.
Education and Experience Requirements High School Diploma or GED required. 6 years related maintenance experience and technical training. Well rounded aircraft and aircraft systems technical knowledge necessary.
Position Purpose:As an aircraft & aircraft system technical specialist, assist in the training and development of company technical employees. As determined by facility objectives, goals and strategies, deliver both lab environment and classroom training/instruction. Assist in the development of training plans in support of organizational business initiatives while at the same time maintaining focus on safety and quality objectives. Support sites with training events at site location to support business needs.
Job Description Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:
- Establish oneself as the technical expert for those requiring lab and developmental training through ATA or qualified certification events .
Pass along the expectation to ensure aircraft safety standards are complied with within the SMS system. Promote and mandate the use of high risk task procedures are understood and followed . Work to instill the values of personal accountability and integrity in the individual you are assisting/training by promoting a high level of safety and quality . Guide technicians to ensure proper use of technical data and documentation practices are utilized on each task, each time. Assist to ensure understanding of task at hand and provide guidance to successfully carry out those tasks . Ensure proper use and utilization of tracking system within the Learning management system are recorded and followed . Support training development needs by engaging and working to extend your skill set knowledge to help in design of aircraft specific or tools specific training courses . Provide input and guidance on ERT and Master Technician programs . Pass on aircraft systems knowledge and teach advanced troubleshooting techniques to lesser experienced technicians . Promote proper use and handling of tooling, PPE, and chemicals dangerous to employee and environment . Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements:
- Must be able to read, interpret and explain maintenance manuals, IPCs, ASCs, CBs, CMP cards, engineering orders and blueprints.
Must obtain a training Qualifier status. Must be able to troubleshoot systems during tests and perform systems and operational checks. Must be available to conduct training on any shift and travel as necessary. Must possess facilitation and presentation capabilities. Good organizational skills and strong verbal/written communication skills required.
