A major pump OEM has an immediate opening for a full-time SHOP ENGINEER.
The successful candidate would provide technical support through the outside sales people as well as directly to the customer. Typical technical issues and questions would involve: pumping system trouble shooting; mechanical design improvements; hydraulic rerates and enhancements; vibration analysis; pressure boundary analysis; metallurgical problem solving including corrosion and/or erosion problems; optimize plant systems/rotating equipment interfaces; pump bearing housing retrofits; maintenance and system operation limitations; thrust calculations; seal and seal flush plan optimization; and baseplates.
Qualifications:
-- The position requires an individual that is highly experienced in rotating equipment machinery, especially with centrifugal pumps.
-- A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field is required, although the company would consider a candidate with equivalent training or experience.
-- Proficient analytical and computer skills are mandatory.
-- Knowledge of AutoCAD would be very beneficial.
-- A minimum five (5) years’ field pump experience.
-- Systems interface and hydraulic applications are preferred.
