We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Distance Teacher to join our Academics Department. The ideal candidate will possess strong technological skills, a passion for teaching, and the ability to effectively manage and educate students from diverse backgrounds through virtual instruction.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Valid teacher certification appropriate for the assignment.
- Completed professional development for online instruction.
- Proficient in multitasking various computer software programs.
- Ability to record lessons on Canvas and broadcast to other locations.
- Preferred experience working with “at-risk” students.
- Effective communication with parents, students, and staff.
- Skilled in managing students from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience in conflict resolution.
- Other qualifications as deemed appropriate by the district.
Responsibilities:

- Implement school mission, philosophy, and instructional standards.

- Provide virtual instruction to various campuses.
- Plan study programs to meet individual student needs.
- Collaborate on content development for Texas Virtual School Network Approval.
- Create a blended learning environment with Associate Teachers.
- Prepare for classes and provide evidence of preparation.
- Encourage high standards of behavior and achievement.
- Use positive behavior interventions.
- Maintain classroom order.
- Guide learning to achieve curriculum standards.
- Use diverse instructional techniques and media.
- Regularly assess and document student progress.
- Address learning problems and seek specialist assistance as needed.
- Meet the needs of special program students.
- Plan and supervise assignments for assistants and volunteers, assessing their performance.
