Tooling & Fixture Design Engineer
Location: North of Austin TX
Contract: 6-month contract with potential for conversion
We are seeking an experienced Tooling & Fixture Design Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract, with the potential for conversion. In this role, you will lead the design and development of tooling, fixtures, and production equipment for the manufacturing of aerospace composite components. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of tooling, fixtures, and production equipment for aerospace composite manufacturing.
- Select materials and manufacturing processes that meet aerospace industry standards.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Identify and address production challenges to ensure timely delivery of high-quality components.
Top Skills and Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in tooling and fixture design, with a focus on aerospace composites manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of aerospace industry standards, materials, and processes.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., NX).
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (a plus).
- Experience in quick-turn custom composite tooling design and fabrication.
- Exposure to composite materials and processes (carbon fiber, resins, curing methods, etc.) is a plus.
