The Project Manager’s role is to manage the development and implementation of technology projects as well as support ongoing APeX Enabled Research (AER) operations. Most project resources will be through partnership with other entities, and/or via 3rd party vendors, thus communications skills and a strong ability to work across organizational boundaries is crucial.
S/he provides “go to” leadership and manages the scope, timing, and budget of multiple small to large scale projects to achieve AER’s organizational goals and benefits to recharge customers.
Applies professional project management and IT concepts and department / unit and campus, medical center or Office of the President policies and procedures to manage complex projects.
Assembles and directs moderate to large project teams, designs project plans and schedules and monitors budget and resources. Directs the activities of the project with the goal of completing the project on schedule and within budget constraints.
- Drive execution and successful implementation of projects, oversee technical team progress against project budget, schedule and scope. Work with internal teams and 3rd party vendors on implementation plans and dependencies.
- Escalate issues and risks to leadership and jointly propose and implement solutions
- Develop trusted relationships with key technology and functional leaders & stakeholders to drive focus and optimize project delivery
- Coordinate with business owners to align on change management and communications management plans
- Clearly communicate and manage expectations across teams and with stakeholders and partners
- Proactively identify and manage issues and risks
- Manage project budget, resources and timeline, providing regular status updates
- Coordinate billing and expenses across teams

- 3+ years of work experience of progressive broad-based information systems business analysis and project management, with strong project management methodology background, preferably at a large institution or company.
- Ability to manage project budgets.
- Demonstrated experience to maintain schedule and maintain risk management standards.
- Demonstrated experience in driving focused initiatives to meet global needs/goals.
- Prior academic and/or healthcare experience
- Experience in leveraging Lean UX principles to define project requirements
- Experience with Scrum management tools such as Rally, Pivotal Tracker, Jira
- Education
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline with an Information Technology project management focus. Req
