Position: Project Lead
Industry: Handheld Devices, Industrial Devices, Wearable Electronics
Experience Required: Minimum 5 years
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Project Lead with at least five years of industry experience in the development of handheld devices, industrial products, wearable electronics, or similar technologies. The Project Lead will serve as the primary point of contact, ensuring seamless coordination between the customer, the engineering team, and third-party vendors. This role involves translating customer needs into product requirements, managing project timelines, forecasting resources, and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and track project requirements, schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
- Manage scope changes, including cost impacts and obtaining approval for changes.
- Provide clear project reporting and communicate technical, budgetary, and scheduling updates to customers.
- Coordinate internal development expectations regarding timelines and deliverables.
- Adjust workload or forecasts based on resource availability.
- Ensure compliance with project goals and customer specifications.
- Identify potential risks (technical, schedule, or budget) and implement mitigation strategies.
- Oversee the quality of design engineering deliverables.
- Prioritize and coordinate project activities.
- Maintain strong, ongoing customer relationships.
- Contribute to the development and upkeep of electrical, firmware, software, mechanical, or systems engineering design documentation, testing plans, and validation procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and present proposals for new projects or follow-up initiatives.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and MS Project.
- Strong communication skills to document and convey all project aspects to customers, engineers, and suppliers.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science (Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in technical product development.
- Proven experience in project leadership or project management.
- Familiarity with working in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Experience in designing hardware (PCBAs) is a plus.
