GENERAL SUMMARY
This position requires the monitoring of processes and procedures for a Tunnel Project from start to completion.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain company’s quality control standards and enforce contract specifications, welding procedures, and qualifications.
- Serve as a point of escalation for technical issues within the Quality Management department.
- Monitor project investigations performed by internal auditors, state auditors, Independent Quality Assurance (IQA) Contractor from Mackinac Strait Corridor Authority (MSCA), and PHMSA (Federal regulators).
- Analyze construction quality related data from a variety of sources including audit logs, nonconformance logs, contract review logs, audits conducted by IQA, PHMSA, and similar data.
- Conduct field Process Assessments to ensure all project requirements are being adhered to.
- Develop and maintain documents related to processes, procedures, guidelines, handbooks, work instructions, and project presentations.
- Present Project Quality related information to audiences of diverse size and background.
- Serve as a Quality Management System (QMS) Power User as needed.
- Represent the Quality Management department at industry conferences and report back on meetings as required.
- Assist in reviewing Supply Chain Vendor Data Documentation.
- Work cross-functionally with technical groups (Operational Compliance. Regulatory Compliance, Administration Services, Pipeline Integrity, Metallurgical Services, Design (Pipeline/Compressor Station), and Supply Chain.
- Serve as a good steward of company resources, interests, and demonstrate integrity and trust through words and actions.
- Performing Process Assessments on the project and assisting with the review of contract Exhibits during the RFP and IFC period.
- Assists with specification revisions to ensure compliance with Company, State, and PHMSA DOT 195 regulations.
- Receives periodic direction from there supervisor, Project Manager (PM), and work is checked on a periodic basis.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Requires a minimum of ten (10) years prior experience working in US Tunnel projects and construction industry, and a thorough knowledge of applicable US codes and standards for Tunnel construction notably concrete construction ACI (American Concrete Institute), ASCE American Society of Civil Engineers. Included in the ten (10) years prior experience, a minimum of five (5) years of field construction experience is required.
- Requires a fundamental understanding of quality management principles as well as project management principles.
- Work Schedule will be in the Houston office, 10 hours per day/ 5 days per week however this position requires frequent overnight travel.
