Stanton & Company is looking for a high-energy, results-driven and ambitious Public Relations Account Director to lead our public relations team. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of and passion for lifestyle, health and wellness public relations, deep relationships with key media, and a solid understanding of how to maximize influencer engagement as part of a PR campaign. Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience managing and fostering growth among multiple clients are important.
The Account Director must be a strong multi-tasker, adept at balancing long-term strategic plans while overseeing day-to-day tactical project executions and have strong media relationships/know-how. The Account Director will help lead the strategic planning process and continually develop and implement original, creative communications programs for our clients. The ideal candidate has strong media relations skills, a can-do attitude, and thrives in a fast-paced environment, while delivering consistent and high-quality results.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead account management for key clients, overseeing the junior PR team and all deliverables
- Supervise, advise and work alongside the Senior Director/VP in development and execution of overall strategy and communications for client programs and initiatives, including media relations, mailings, media events, ambassador/influencer programs, event seeding and sampling, sponsorship development, brand partnerships, and crisis management
- Work closely with account teams in reviewing and creating key client-facing documents including: press materials (e.g., press releases) client strategies and plans, bi-monthly status reports, monthly recaps, etc.
- Draft press releases and pitches; pursue timely press opportunities and proactive outreach to support Agency clients, brands and individuals
- Secure top-tier media coverage, including profile and product placement and pivot strategy and tactics when necessary
- Onsite management or attendance of media events, media tours, red-carpet events etc. on behalf of clients
- Participate in bi-monthly calls with clients and communicate with clients regularly as needed
- Oversee client budget management and provide necessary metrics/KPIs
- Provide strategic counsel to clients on ongoing basis
- Network and leverage existing industry relationships and grow new relationships
- Manage and develop junior team members
- Develop, finalize and manage client contracts
- Research, vet and pitch new business opportunities
- Create and submit new business proposals
ATTRIBUTES:
- 8-10 years of public relations experience
- A strong team-oriented leader with vision and clarity with a desire to mentor and grow team members
- Strong media relations experience in lifestyle, health and wellness, beauty, natural foods, book launches and packaged/consumer goods (broadcast, print, digital, podcasts)
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- An approach that integrates strategic thinking with big, bold creative ideas
- A proven track record of building and executing successful PR strategies
- Hands-on experience networking and building relationships, writing communications proposals and pitching new business opportunities
- Long-term strategic vision with the ability to simultaneously manage short-term/ongoing/day-to-day activities and activations
- Strong project management and prioritization skills; ability to execute against multiple projects simultaneously
- Proactive mindset and approach, actively generating new ideas and opportunities to support client objectives
