Job Summary: The FCL Export Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the export process for full container loads. This role involves coordinating logistics, managing relationships with shipping lines and freight forwarders, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, and providing excellent customer service. The FCL Export Manager will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and efficient movement of goods from origin to destination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage the export process for full container loads, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation.
- Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and port authorities to arrange for container bookings, loading, and shipping.
- Monitor and track shipments, addressing any issues or delays that arise.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Prepare and review export documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and certificates of origin.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all export transactions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding FCL export shipments.
- Address customer inquiries, provide updates on shipment status, and resolve any issues or concerns.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
- Negotiate rates and service terms with shipping lines and freight forwarders to optimize costs and service levels.
- Monitor and control export-related expenses, ensuring adherence to budget and cost-saving targets.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies to continually improve export operations.
- Work closely with internal teams, including sales, procurement, and warehousing, to ensure seamless execution of export activities.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members and contribute to team training and development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in export management, particularly with FCL shipments.
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and logistics.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in export management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Certification in export management or logistics (e.g., Certified Export Specialist, Certified International Trade Professional).
- Experience with specific industries or commodities relevant to the company’s business.
