We are hiring a Senior Asset Manager to be based in Chicago on behalf of our client, a real estate investment and development firm focused nationally on market-rate development in urban in-fill locations. The firm has 8,000 Class-A units completed or under development across nine markets with $4B in asset value. Corporate HQ are located in Chicago. This role will report directly to the CFO and assist with management of a diverse portfolio of real estate assets, including residential, commercial, self-storage and mixed-use properties.
Job Description:
- Responsible for performing core asset management function across firm’s most critical assets.
- Refine best in class asset management processes across entire portfolio.
- Work closely with development team as properties transition from construction to asset management and property management operations.
- Ensure assets meet financial performance goals, operation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Closely manage the property management team at each individual asset.
- Primarily an in-office work schedule (North Side) with quarterly site visits and 5% travel out of state. Majority of properties are currently in Chicago.
- Professional development includes plan for growth into Director of Asset Management role.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of working experience.
- Firm understanding of traditional real estate cash flow.
- General understanding of development process, capital markets, design-build construction industry, and brokerage community and how these groups relate to one another.
- Strong self-starter with the ability to work without much daily direction who thrives in a fast paced, dynamic environment with multiple and evolving priorities and deadlines.
- Solid knowledge of statistics and financial analysis techniques as they apply to real estate projects, and strong working knowledge of financial transaction structures in lease, sale, and investment packaging.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.
- Proficiency with Argus, Salesforce CRM (or similar), Juniper Square and Funnel, a plus.
- Excel-based case study may be required.
