Salary Range: $155,954-$172,370, depending on experience

We are currently seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Project Manager to join our dynamic team.
As a Senior Project Manager at Columbia Electric, you will lead and deliver complex underground construction and public works projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. You will collaborate with clients to understand their needs, develop tailored solutions, and oversee all aspects of project execution, from planning to coordination. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with significant experience in electrical construction and a strong ability to manage multiple projects

Position Responsibilities and Duties:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure adherence to project management processes and procedures, including administration of public works contracts, handling RFIs, submittals, change orders, billing, and understanding construction drawings
- Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications, with a focus on underground construction such as excavation and backfilling
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, typically 12-14 projects with budgets around $1 million each
- Estimate and propose change orders to Clients (subject to review by Manager)
- Manage enterprise software systems, especially those related to accounting, billing, and project tracking
- Provide guidance and management to Team Members
- Provide technical and business guidance, ensuring project goals and objectives are communicated and met
- Work with the Superintendent to ensure all parties are aware of the goals and objectives set for each project assigned
SAFETY:
- Report all safety incidents immediately to the Safety Dept. and Construction Manager
- Enforce PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) use, site-specific compliance, and task-appropriate equipment for all employees.
- Monitor and ensure work is being completed safely and in accordance with CEI Safety standards and all applicable codes, standards, etc.
- Assist Superintendent(s) and Safety Dept. to ensure each task is performed by the employee with the requisite training and certifications.
ESTIMATING DUTIES:
- Submit pricing changes to clients in a clear, concise, and timely manner.
- Responsible for the entire T&M pricing cycle
- Negotiate settlement of all CORs with Client and submit change order rejection claims in a timely fashion.
PURCHASING DUTIES:
- Verify all Subcontractor and Vendor quotes for accuracy and competitiveness and re-quote, if required
- Collaborate with Purchasing to prepare and issue purchase orders, oversee storage for material purchases, specify delivery locations, and manage long lead time items.
- Supervise pre-project quoting and release of underground materials.
- Oversee end-to-end submittal process, including acquiring, gaining approval, and distributing to project team and suppliers.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT DUTIES:
- Review job cost reports to monitor project financials and take necessary actions.
- Understanding and administering public works contracts, including processing change orders, submittals, RFIs, and billing.
- Spend at least 2 days per week visiting and managing the work at job sites, in addition to time spent in the office.
- Submit accurate and timely billings, handle change order requests, and work on project scheduling.
- Monitor work activities, maintain safety standards, and manage project documentation.
- Cultivate relationships with stakeholders, handle closeout requirements, resolve disputes, and archive project records.
- Handle RFI’s, warranty claims, and document project incidents.
- Review and manage the contract process for accuracy.
- Utilizing various software and enterprise systems used by the company, including HCSS, Adobe Acrobat, Pro Contractor, Plan Grid, and Autodesk.
LEADERSHIP:
- Be professional and maintain integrity to set the standard for excellence and enthusiasm, boosting your team's performance and morale.
- Recruit and mentor team members, offer guidance and necessary support, provide training for Field staff to advance their career.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of leadership experience, with a proven track record in managing projects and leading teams.
- 5-10 years of industry experience in project management, particularly in public works and underground construction.
- Experience in public works construction and underground construction is essential. Experience with dry utilities, materials, and electrical work is considered a plus.
- A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, construction management or related field is a nice to have but not a must.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Suites: Proficiency with enterprise software like HCSS, Adobe Acrobat, Pro Contractor, Plan Grid, and Autodesk is a huge bonus.
- Strong organization and project management skills as you will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects and teams concurrently.
