Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Environmental Heath & Safety Manager to oversee EHS activities and facility operations for their site. The ideal candidate will manage both environmental and safety programs while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Additionally, this role will be responsible for maintaining the facility and grounds, identifying opportunities for improvement, and ensuring a safe and clean working environment that aligns with industry standards such as OSHA, FDA, and ISO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all GMPs, SOPs, and applicable regulations (FDA, ISO) to meet company and industry standards.
- Manage maintenance, facility, and EHS personnel, ensuring training and adherence to all SOPs and regulations.
- Plan and execute on-site training related to EHS and facilities as necessary.
- Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance program for equipment, buildings, and grounds within an annual budget.
- Plan, budget, and schedule facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, and materials.
- Evaluate and assign team members to tasks based on skills, equipment, and available resources.
- Oversee facility inspections, maintenance contracts, and relationships with external vendors.
- Manage safety programs and ensure health and safety protocols are up-to-date and followed.
- Act as the primary contact for local authorities (police, fire departments) and manage security systems.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations by implementing and managing EHS programs.
- Conduct hazard analysis and develop plans for hazard prevention and control.
- Manage hazardous waste disposal and maintain facility records, including inspections and permits.
- Support the facility's lean initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
- Serve as the facility's Emergency Response Coordinator, overseeing fire evacuation and disaster preparedness plans.
- Assist with office and furniture moves as needed.
- Report concerns or issues requiring immediate attention to leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in facility management.
- 3+ years of EHS experience, including reporting to federal, state, and local authorities.
- Knowledge of FDA QSR, ISO13485, and ISO14971 Risk Assessment (preferred).
- Familiarity with UBC, UFC, NEC, and ADA regulations.
- Certifications such as ASP, CSP, or CEM are a plus, or equivalent experience.
