Senior Process System Engineer

Location: Near Syracuse, NY
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and implement projects focused on efficiency, sustainability, profit, and continuous improvement.
- Write project proposals and generate reports.
- Present design and research to internal customers.
- Troubleshoot chronic issues associated with product and process, i.e. Triage.
- Support process on large capital projects.
- Serve as a technical resource for the manufacturing and support functions.
- Partner with product development on feasibility and trialing of new ingredients and products.
- Develop processes to meet production, measure process capabilities within the plant.
- Proactively maintain material handling, batching, process, new technology, and equipment to improve the process/efficiency of the business.
- Document batch, process, and equipment changes in product life cycle management.
- Serve as an active member of the Management of Change representing process change.
- Validate process change through process capability measurement.
- Travel required as needed for business.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- PhD/Masters/Bachelor of Science/Engineering degree or relevant scientific field of study.
- 5+ years of food and dairy industry experience of which 2+ years dairy plant experience
- Certifications such as Six Sigma are highly beneficial.
- Helpful if experienced in project management; leading teams/project teams.
- Strong technical knowledge of engineering and/or data analysis of processes and ingredient functionality/ handling.
- Strong knowledge of consumer-packaged product processes and line equipment.
- Use and present knowledge associated with the design of experiments, statistical analysis, and statistical process control.
- Strong self-accountability to meet deadlines and drive results; is accountable for own work; meets timelines and expectations; works independently and is accountable to deadlines while flexible to changing business needs.
- Deals with concepts and complexity; can comfortably handles risk and uncertainty; can decide and act without having the total picture.
- Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions.
