MPOYNT is currently putting together a dynamic delivery and results driven Field Services Team to help our client partners successfully adopt new infrastructure technologies.
For this position, we are seeking a forward thinking, customer first focused technologist. As a Field Service Technician, you will provide onsite technical services that include but are not limited to Network Turnup, Data migration, Workstation Deployment, Application Support, etc. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience and be able to decipher complex networks and use specialty tools to build, test and deploy a technology stack.
The position requires a person that can accommodate a flexible work schedule involving extensive travel across the country. We do our best to provide a minimum of 1-2weeks notice but in some cases, travel would be required on short notice to address emergencies.
This is a full-time (in-person) role at our Austin, TX HQ.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Assist with physical setup and distribution of network appliances, workstations, and peripherals while maintaining safe work practices.
- Provide support to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across all endpoints.
- Proficiently conduct technical site assessments to scope level of effort and work required.
- Collaborate with IT teams to address areas of concerns and take appropriate action to remediate.
- Providing supporting documentation to create knowledge base articles, network diagrams, etc.
- Maintain all Technical Information, Field Service Reports, Timesheets, Expense Reports, and Inventory details are documented in a timely manner.
- Be the subject master expert by staying current on industry trends (relative to scope of responsibility), leveraging ideas to improve and/or better align IT systems and services.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree or diploma in Computer Networking, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, including addressing, sub-netting, routing, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Previous experience with deployment of network appliances, access control systems, IP based telephony, NAS, etc.
- Fluent in English and excellent ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences (VIPs, C-Suite, etc.).
- A valid Driver’s License.
- Maintain a high level of performance under the pressure of time constraints, and a fast-paced changing environment using effective decision-making skills while under limited supervision.
- Ability to manage a physically demanding workload which may include lifting boxes (40+ lbs), climbing ladders, and working in a variety of indoor/outdoor environments and weather conditions.
- Must be willing and able to work various shifts as assigned including evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays to meet customer/business needs, including out of state assignments.
