Meritage Hospitality Group is seeking a Supervisor of Risk and Claims to join the team!
What You’ll Do:
The Supervisor of Risk and Claims is responsible for general oversight of the Risk team, focusing on supervision of incidents and claims handling across multiple lines of insurance coverage, including general liability, workers’ compensation, property, auto, and other relevant lines, and management of effective risk mitigation and loss prevention programs, coordination of safety initiatives, oversight of the risk-related training programs, along reporting on risk trends.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
- Lead and supervise the Risk team in the handling of incidents, claims, and loss investigations and other daily risk functions
- Communicate effectively with Risk team, company’s third-party administrator (TPA), and third-party vendors to ensure proper handling of insurance claims and drive efficiencies
- Ensure timely reporting, investigation, and resolution of claims and assist with large or complex claims as needed
- Work closely in partnership with Operations and Human Resources on risk-related training to ensure efficacy and completion within necessary timeframes
- Partner and communicate with Operations on loss prevention strategies, workplace safety initiatives, and incident reporting
- Create and manage reports with assistance of existing resources (risk management system, broker, TPA) to track incident/claims frequency, severity, and claim costs
- Partner with broker and director on current and emerging risk trends in the industry
- Provide accurate and timely reporting to stakeholders on claims and incident trends
- Participate in insurance program renewal
- Collaborate on potential solutions to impact premium and loss experience
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Ability to effectively partner and collaborate at various levels
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
