Our Client, a reputable solar contractor established in 1985, is seeking a licensed, journeyman electrician to join their team. They have offices in Ventura, Nipomo, and San Luis Obispo and ideally need someone based in or around the San Luis Obispo (SLO) area, Santa Maria, or San Ynez. This position does not require travel, allowing you to focus on projects within the Central Coast.

As a Licensed Journeyman Electrician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in both residential and commercial settings. Experience with solar and battery systems is highly preferred, but not mandatory. Competitive compensation starts at $40 per hour, with potential to reach $50 based on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems and components in residential and commercial properties.
- Conduct inspections and troubleshooting to identify issues and recommend effective solutions.
- Provide support for solar energy systems, including maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical code specifications.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
- Mentor and provide guidance to apprentices and junior electricians as needed.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in electrical work and solar energy.
Qualifications:
- Valid California Journeyman Electrician License.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as an electrician, preferably in residential and commercial electrical work.
- Experience with solar energy systems is a plus, but not a strict requirement.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
