SINGH + Associates, Inc. is seeking a Construction Manager to lead our growing Construction Management Group. The Construction Manager will report to the Senior Vice President and oversee all construction managements projects by performed by Singh. The CM will be required to demonstrate reliability, responsibility, and dependability to fulfill the obligations of the position.
Job Description
The position requires a technical background engineering. The Construction Manager will manage all aspects of the Construction Management Group from proposals for new work to project closeout. Some regional travel may be required.
The position will require a self-starter that is highly experienced in the standard processes and procedures that will be used to construct a variety of roadway transportation projects. The position will oversee professional staff serving various clients in various construction management roles. Comprehensive knowledge of IDOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction (SSRBC), IDOT Project Procedures Guide(PPG), IDOT Construction Manual, IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities, Tollway Construction Manager’s Manual, Illinois Tollway Supplemental Specifications, Tollway’s Web-Based Project Management (WBPM) system “eBuilder”, CDOT Rules and Regulations for Work in the Public Way, and the CDOT Consultant Construction Engineer (CCE) Manual will be necessary to the success of this position.
Tasks
- Perform the role of Project Manager for all Singh CM projects.
- Act as a hybrid PM/Resident Engineer on select CM projects.
- Assist field personnel with resolving complex construction issues.
- Train and develop construction engineers.
- Supervise the performance of the resident engineers as they complete task such as tracking project status, processing payments to contractors, processing change order requests, routing and replying to project correspondence, and project close-outs.
- Monitor the performance of field personnel as they complete tasks such as measuring and verifying the quantities of work performed in the field, completing daily/weekly reports, assisting with material inspection, and general monitoring of the contractor’s work.
Skills + Qualifications
- BS in Engineering or Construction Management
- PE license is a plus
- CCM certification is a plus
- Driver’s License
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Microsoft Office Suite
