Job Summary:
Kinetic Pressure Control is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Drafter/Designer to support our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing detailed technical drawings and models for pressure control equipment and systems. Your work will directly contribute to the design and manufacturing of our cutting-edge pressure control solutions for the energy and oil & gas sectors. Please note that this position is onsite; working from home is not offered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed technical drawings: Create precise 2D and 3D CAD models for pressure control equipment using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD Inventor.
- Collaborate with engineering teams: Work closely with engineers and project managers to understand design specifications and product requirements, translating them into detailed technical drawings.
- Perform design revisions: Update and revise drawings based on engineering feedback, project changes, and quality control guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with equipment standards: Ensure all designs meet the specifications for equipment associated with API standards such as API 16A, API 17G, and API 6A.
- Material selection and documentation: Assist in selecting materials and documenting parts lists, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and technical specifications.
- Support manufacturing and testing: Provide design assistance during the manufacturing process and conduct design checks to support product testing and quality assurance.
- Project documentation: Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including drawings, revisions, and design notes.
- Assist in design reviews: Participate in design review meetings, presenting your drafts and incorporating feedback to optimize designs.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in mechanical drafting and design, ideally within the pressure control, oil & gas, or energy industries.
- Technical skills: Highly proficient in AutoCAD Inventor—experience in other CAD software programs will not be accepted.
- Technical Experience: Strong experience working with precision machined components, assemblies, gate valves, and blowout preventers.
- Industry standards: Highly desirable to have prior experience with equipment associated with API 16A, API 17G, and API 6A standards.
- Attention to detail: Strong ability to create precise technical drawings, with attention to design tolerances and safety factors.
- Problem-solving: Capable of identifying design issues and working proactively to resolve them.
- Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with engineers, project managers, and production teams.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work onsite at Kinetic Pressure Control facilities as needed.
- Occasionally required to perform tasks in manufacturing environments, such as reviewing design installations or supporting testing.
