Job Title: Associate Director of Social Strategy
Hybrid: (onsite time required 1-2 days a week in downtown Seattle)

Compensation: $125,000 - $145,000

Our advertising agency client is looking for Senior level Social Strategist who will act as the primary social media strategy expert for clients and the agency. Top candidates for this opportunity have strong strategy chops and skilled at transforming social platforms into dynamic tools for brand growth. They understand the power of social media to influence culture and create meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategy Development & Execution:
- Develop and lead innovative social media strategies across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.) to achieve key business objectives, such as brand awareness, engagement, lead generation, and customer acquisition.
- Craft long-term social strategies that align with overall marketing goals and target audience insights, ensuring that social efforts complement and enhance broader marketing campaigns.
- Build platform-specific strategies that leverage the unique strengths of each channel, while also ensuring consistent messaging and branding across platforms.
- Lead social media audits and competitive analyses to identify gaps and opportunities in current social performance, continually optimizing strategies based on findings.
2. Audience Insights & Targeting:
- Conduct audience segmentation and social listening to inform content strategies and pinpoint trends, audience behaviors, and platform preferences.
- Use data-driven insights to inform targeting approaches, ensuring content reaches the right audience at the right time.
- Identify and target niche communities and emerging platforms to engage new audiences and elevate the brand’s social presence.
3. Content & Campaign Strategy:
- Collaborate with creative, content, and influencer teams to ideate, plan, and execute high-impact social campaigns that resonate with target audiences.
- Develop content calendars and oversee the production of both evergreen and campaign-specific social content, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Work with internal and external teams to optimize social content, including the integration of influencers, partnerships, and user-generated content into overall strategy.
4. Measurement & Optimization:
- Establish KPIs and success metrics for social media initiatives, continuously monitoring performance, and adjusting strategies based on data.
- Lead regular reporting on the effectiveness of social media efforts, using insights to make recommendations for optimization and future strategies.
- Oversee A/B testing on social platforms to understand what drives engagement and conversions, adjusting strategies accordingly.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the broader marketing team to integrate social strategy with wider campaigns, ensuring a cohesive brand voice across all digital and traditional touchpoints.
- Partner with product, PR, creative, and analytics teams to develop cross-functional campaigns and ensure that social strategies reflect the brand’s priorities.
6. Leadership & Mentorship:
- Lead a small team of social strategists, providing mentorship, guidance, and direction on day-to-day tasks and long-term career development.
- Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation within the social team, encouraging creative approaches that challenge the status quo.
- Stay ahead of trends and best practices, ensuring the team is equipped to evolve with the rapidly changing social media landscape.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in social media strategy or digital marketing, with proven success in leading large-scale social campaigns.
- Deep understanding of social platforms, their respective best practices, and the latest platform updates.
- Experience with data analysis, social media reporting, and optimization strategies.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with experience managing a team.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate strategic recommendations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on time in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative, results-driven mindset, with a passion for digital innovation and storytelling.
