Global law firm Houston office is looking for a Labor and Employment Paralegal. The Labor and Employment Paralegal position works under the direct supervision of lawyers and provides support to the Labor and Employment department. Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal certification is required. 3+ years of labor & employment experience which will include a litigation/trial background. Salary is commensurate with experience and can pay $75k-$95k.
- Job responsibilities include:
- Document management - including but not limited to, review of documents for responsiveness, bates labeling, organization of documents and compiling information for discovery responses/pleadings/motions, depositions and trial preparation
- Draft discovery requests and responses
- Witness Interviews
- Draft Rule 26 disclosures
- Create damage models for wage/hour cases
- Electronic filing in state and federal courts
- Facilitate document production (hard copy and electronic formats)
- Management of litigation databases and support of electronic discovery processes
- Review documents for privilege and compile privilege logs
- Prepare, serve and follow up on subpoenas
- Assist at trial, including tracking exhibits and coordination of courtroom equipment to present electronic evidence and exhibits.
Strong working knowledge of E-discovery, including the technical aspects of collecting, reviewing, and producing electronically stored information (state and federal court). Proficiency in Relativity, LiveNote, Case/Time Map, Summation, Adobe Acrobat, and Trial Director preferred.
