Job Summary
The Human Resource Assistant plays a key role in supporting the HR team and ensuring smooth HR operations. You will handle a variety of administrative and clerical tasks while maintaining accurate HR records and assisting with recruitment, payroll, benefits administration, and employee communications. You will be the go-to person for employee inquiries and HR processes, ensuring everything runs like a well-oiled machine. What does a typical day look like?
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation within the HRIS system.
- Perform audits of HR files and benefit records to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Collaborate with the finance department to reconcile benefit invoices and support accurate payroll processing.
- Assist in recruitment processes by screening resumes, conducting pre-screen phone interviews, and coordinating first and second-round interviews.
- Draft and post job descriptions in collaboration with hiring managers and HR management.
- Prepare formal communications for HR management review, including offer letters, regret letters, employee announcements, and memos.
- Assist with the development and enforcement of HR policies and procedures.
- Support the HR team in developing training programs and additional HR projects.
- Perform additional duties as required to support HR operations and organizational goals.
What qualifications are required for this position?
- Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 2+ years of related office experience, preferably within an HR department.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact and professionalism.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or related software.
- Ability to quickly learn HRIS, payroll management systems, and similar applications. (Experience with ADP is preferred.)
- Excellent customer service orientation and ability to interface with all levels of the organization
- Eagerness to learn, a willingness to think outside the box, accept new challenges, and have fun
- Satisfactory completion of background check including criminal, credit and professional references
