We are seeking an applicant with experience and interest in pursuing a career in fine art conservation and museum-quality custom framing.
The position would work alongside the principal of our company to facilitate new and ongoing projects. No project is ever the same, and each scope of work is customized according to the needs of the piece and the clients. With the variety of projects and clients that we work with, no day is ever the same. The ideal candidate will enjoy learning the history of the works in our care, with a keen eye on how to best frame to both display and protect the works once they leave.
Attention to detail and following through on deadlines are top priorities. This position involves client communication, teamwork, administration assistance, and handling artwork.
Responsibilities:
-Assist with phone and email inquiries
-Assist with customer relationships, and work with clients to facilitate incoming and ongoing projects
-Design a variety of custom frames both in-person and through virtual consultation
-Prepare and send condition reports, treatment proposals, invoices, work orders, and post-treatment documentation
-Maintain project inventories, documentation, and customer files
-Assist the art handling team with onsite inventories, packing and return delivery, and installations
-Ensure safe handling and storage of incoming artifacts and artwork
-Monitor and maintain storage spaces according to best practices
-Collaboratively work with colleagues to facilitate the successful completion of specialty projects
Requirements:
-Bachelor’s degree (BA or BFA)
-Minimum of 2 years of experience in the fine art industry
-Picture framing experience/knowledge
-A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
-Pass a background check
-Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite

-Possess knowledge and interest in fine art and antiques and their care
-Good hand skills and knowledge of proper art handling
-Experience with QuickBooks, Photoshop, and CRM platforms are a plus
-Enjoys working with clients and takes pride in the successful completion of specialty projects
-Goal-oriented and willing to learn

The position includes work at our studio in Chicago and Schiller Park facility, as well as onsite work in high-end residents, museums, and commercial spaces.

This is a full-time position (40 hrs), occasional Saturdays are included.
Compensation is based on experience.
