We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Assistant/Personal Assistant to provide administrative and legal support to one of our partners. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day tasks, assisting with legal document preparation, and handling personal assistant duties, ensuring smooth operations both in the office and personally. This is an On-site Position in HTX.
Legal Support:
- Assist in managing the partner's cases, including preparation, filing, and organization of legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Manage case files, maintaining up-to-date records and ensuring confidentiality.
- Schedule court dates, hearings, and meetings with clients and opposing counsel.
- Communicate with clients, courts, and third parties to coordinate case details.
- Maintain and manage deadlines for filings and submissions.
- Draft correspondence and other legal documents under attorney supervision.
- Assist paralegal with various tasks as needed, including document preparation, and trial support.
Administrative Duties:
- Answer and direct phone calls when receptionist is away.
- Monitor partner's emails
- Manage the partner’s personal and professional calendar, including scheduling appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements.
- Assist with billing and tracking of time-sensitive tasks.
- Handle travel arrangements, including booking flights, accommodations, and transportation for personal and professional trips.
- Plan and coordinate personal events, including reservations, invitations, and logistics.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred; a certification in paralegal studies is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Personal Assistant, or similar role in a legal environment.
- Knowledge of legal terminology, processes, and documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal research platforms.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
